William Pigott passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was 83. Born in Hedding, N.J., he had lived in the area all of his life. Bill was a graduate of William MacFarland High School, the Bordentown Military Institute in 1949 and in 1950 was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 2001 he was elected into Bordentown Regional High School's Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a life time member of the Hedding United Methodist Church and was a Past Master of Moriah Lodge #28 F&AM of Bordentown. He enjoyed coaching in the local community sports leagues and will be deeply missed by his family and dear friends. Son of the late Charles and Emmaline Pigott, he is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Janet (Bowker) Pigott; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kermit and Debra Pigott of Springfield, William and Joanne Pigott of Burlington Township, and Robert and Elizabeth Pigott of Springfield; three daighters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Landon Minnick of San Antonio, Texas, Joanne and Andrew Hensch of Hendersonville, N.C., and Michele and Mark Teschko of Lumberton; four sisters, Elizabeth Wainwright of Hedding, Marion Armstrong and Patricia Shinn both of Columbus, and Reba Ostner of Englewood, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at the Hedding United Methodist Church, 2289 Old York Road, Hedding, N.J. Interment will follow in Columbus Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, and again Friday morning 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
